Understand your thoughts. At the same time from my house it is a hour to Tarpon and 12 min to Medard. Would cost me $80 per trip in gas alone. 80X3=240 then the savings begin, so if Medard turns out to be a good fishery again it still is more economic for me to pay the $230 for all the passes. Besides those passes wpuld alow me to bring my fishing partner for free, so It will not cost you a dime. Gotta luv that.

Vince, i agree with you on close fishing location if you live in area, however, thats
a pretty good chunk of money to lay out at one time......Min. of $230.00 for 3
permits and only be good at one location. Can go to Tarpon 39 miles from Brandon
fish all day & night for $6.00...............vs Medard on 1 day (not night) 6am till
7pm (must be completely out of water) for $7.00..........duh, whats wrong with
this picture...don't even really want to discuss staying in camp ground at park, cost
    wise.

Could make ten trips to Medard to one to either of the other lakes. Not saying I like the fees but economics for me will make it cheaper to fish Medard next year once they open it up so we can keep some eaters.

Not complaining about reasonable fees. What I don't like, and will keep me away by my choice, is all the if's and buts and whys and wherefors. If state regulations are good one place they should be good for another. They try to micro manage every little pond they can get. Just tell me state regs and I will follow. The fisherman that use a body of water if it has decent fish. If it doesn't then it will be ignored untill someone catches some decent fish.

I tried to get into F & F years ago. Had an application that I filled out and sent in with a check. Never heard a word and check was never cashed. Now it is for employees only. Had a chance years ago to take some politicians fishing in some pits Owned by American Cynimide(sp). Had to have carpul tunnel surgery and never happened. But they wanted to lobby the politicians.

At the FWC meeting regarding Medard held last January - they made it pretty clear
that an FWC fishery can and will be handled separtely from STATE REGS. Interesting
seein that both are of state agency funded by the same tax payers..
