Really enjoyed the fellowship and jabs on crappie.com. After today, we will eat fish not the bird called "Crow". We had a great time and we realize the wind was rough for lake Monroe.

I guess I'll be eating the crow since I was smacking the loudest, but that's ok! I had a chance to get to know a bunch of new friends and fish with a bunch of old ones. I would like to thank the folks on our end for everything they did. Thanks ms. Trudy and Chunky for cooking, flycaster for manning the weigh station and all the folks that fished in the WIND. On the winning end, thanks to Curtis and Tim for their work in organizing the event at Talquin and a special thanks to Slab for your support with the shirts and the Outback Steakhouse gift certifiicates for all the Monroe folks. The Florida post hit 7,938 hits with 363 replies.....that's got to be some kind of record somewhere. Thanks Slab for crappie.com and making events like these possible!

The state record & now this, I guess the bar has been set! Congrats team talquin. Also a dat -a-boy to speckanator & lightwirehooker for coming up with this concept to take pride in your local lakes.

Had a blast, got beat to death early and found a small corner out the wind and managed some fish. Mostly enjoyed the time with friends on the water. Thanks again Mike and Curtis for puttin it on and Slab for your generous support. And was great seeing everyone again.
a few pics from Monroe
Yeah I had a great time. Me and my buddies finally found a little hole of some pretty decent fish but then time ran out on us.

I wonder what the story is with that Coastal Angler feller. Saw him walk up but then he disappeared. Thought for a fishing report writer for Coastal Angler mag he might have made a tad bit of an attempt to talk to us and meet some of us, surely he ain't the shy type.
SYG, ya gotta plan to come next October. Thats when Monroe is in her Glory. Glad ya came down.
