I have 6 of the IX1000 and 2 of the IX2000. Love em. Yes there is better and I own better but take the 2 IX2000 camping(mostly saltwater environment) and the 1000's I use longlining. NO problems with them at all. I will buy more

I had several for a long time, and just upgraded away from them, but not because of problems. The anti reverse goes back to orient the trigger release instead of instant anti reverse. The gears will last longer if you pop the sideplate and grease em a bit more than the factory does. I used mine in fresh and salt with no ill effect. Great reel for the money. A 6' medium rod and a 1000 spooled with 6lb is a great Seatrout rig. Threw Crappie sized curl tails near Haulover canal many days with this rig and got spooled a few times but never burned up a reel.

Going to go back to the Shimano's this year, having trouble with my Pfluegers. The bearings are not sealed and sand or grit can easily find it's way in. Lost three of my Presidents this year. I still have four Stradics that I bought in the 80s all working good after 1000's and 1000's of casts ( shad, smallmouths, walleyes, etc) just a bit to heavy for my liking, going to drop the dime on a Sustain 1000 this year.

I use Shimano reels and love them. Have a few iver 15 years old and play a fish like new. The one thing I do not like is the rear drag. Think it is more of a preference. Drag knob gets in the way cause of how I hold them. Love the price.

Thanks for the heads up, Yelim, super price. Going to tell my bud Phil about them as he is getting set up to troll for white perch this summer in PA.
