I hate wake boats, make fishing miserable when they just go back and forth by you..always hope they will break down
I was headed back to the ramp behind a wake boat yesterday. He was traveling about 25 mph. I was back where his wake settled out. I noticed a flap on the back of the boat open. It started a nice high rolling wave off the side of the boat. At this point I see a bass boat pounding the bank. Fella had his fishing shirt and gear on. Tournament stickers on the boat. He was obvious to the wave headed his way until it was tossing him around and washing over the sides of the boat. Man in the wake boat closed the flap and never let up. The bass fisherman had some might fine balance to stay upright on the front deck

Not sure if I could’ve held my tongue with that fella… him adding the extra wave just for spite going by a fella who’s fishing… nope, I would’ve had to introduce myself.

Took my old dear sweet Dad fishing in his 15’ glass boat. Huge lake, no one out there. We were fishing when a ski boat saw us and decided that it was important that we see them having fun. Back and forth they went attempting to swamp us or pitch us from the boat. Laughing.
Well I told the old man get ready to fight, and I tied on a rusty hook spoon and waited for my prey. As they came by I reared up and aimed to try to get it just in front of the skier, but my cast missed. I was so mad that I had missed, that I quickly reeled back in and began motioning to them to come back around. Well that was too much for the old man and he wanted to leave.
I keep a large nasty treble snatching hook in the boat at all times. Never know, and I really don’t think I will miss again. Aim at the boat dummy - I think whenever I see it.
Maybe they will bite this one……
Years ago at daylight I was shooting a dock, this duck boat with 4 guys in I came by about 20 feet away. I wasn't paying much attention at that time, next thing I know my boat is bouncing off the dock violently. Everything settles down about 20 minutes later I hear them coming they buzzed me again. Over the next hour while shooting this string of docks this happened twice more. They had went to the end of the cove and set up to hunt. When I left I put that 18.5' Stratos in barge mode I made about 6 good tight circles around 50' from where they were anchored. That Stratos wasn't a wake voat, but when you put her in barge mood and lay her into a tight turn she will throw a respectable wave.
Last year I was tossing jigs to a rock bluff. This wake boat went by a good distance away. I saw the wave coming my way. I turned the trolling motor and pointed the boat into the wave. Next thing I know my feet were soaked. This wave rolled clean over the bow of the boat before it had time to lift up. Took several minutes to pump the water off the boat.
