Its not going to hurt a thing. Leave them like they are.
I just bought a MK PowerDrive V2
It has a tag on the battery wires that says you cannot hook up any other electronics to the battery that you hook the TM up to for danger of messing up the TM battery.
I usually have my lights (which I rarely have to use) hooked up to the same battery as the TM. I don't have anything else connected. Does anyone think this would be a problem? Would I be safe to continue to use this set up or do I need to rewire for the lights on the boat?
Thanks

Thanks, used it this weekend and it worked fine. Not sure how long it will take to get used to the ergonomic side to side foot pedal and the electric steering though.
TNT,
Im interested in getting a powerdrive and utilizing the copilot wireless remote systems. Can you unplug the footpedal and leave it at home with those or is it not possible? Im not wanting a footpedal, just wireless remote.

No need for the foot pedal with a co-pilot.
Shellback,
Is it easy to use? Copilot that is, I hate to spend that kind of money and not be happy with it.
The foot pedal is able to be removed? I don't have much room in the front of my boat and really not interested in having or using a footpedal.
Does the copilot have to be purchased separately or does the powerdrive V2 have a wireless remote?

You will have to purchase and extral co-pilot attachement that bolts on to the side of your trolling motor mounting bracket. It should be around $140.00. It has a plug that will plug into your trolling motor. You just unplug the foot control and plug in the co-pilot attachment. YOu are then wirless and ready to use your pod control. I use Hi Tek rod holders and i have one set on each side of the bow. They have 4 rod holders on each stem and i use one of them to attach the pod control. I can set in my seat with the depth/GPS finder in front of me and run the pod with my thumb while watching the graph and my rods. It does not get much easier unless you have someong else run it for you.

Unless they have changed something you do not have the speed control that you have with the foot pedal.
