Thread: New Humminbird software updates now available!

Thanks updated my 797. As yet no new update for 987C. Sent an email to humminbird support asking if 987C was going to be updated also. No answer so far.

for those that have 2 units on your boat make sure you download the softwear for each unit....for instance on my boat i have a 997 and a 957...you need 2 files on the SD card...one for each off of the humminbird website...so the 957 file wont work in the 997 and vise versa...they are the same upgrade 4.510 but diffrent units
thought i would let some know before they tried it otherwise like i did and waste a bit of time like i did

The upgrade installed just fine on my 997 but it will be a couple weeks before I can get on the water and see what improvements they have made.

PanMan I just tryed mine in simulation do not have to the lake lol.

The part about modifying the depth offset feature

been wishing for that for awhile, never figured they'd go to the trouble.

looking forward to turning off the TVG too, and seeing what improvement
in deep water it'll make.

All I can say is WOW!!! Your gonna love it.. Shows fish arches with more separation detail then I have ever seen.. I updated my unit last night and took it to the lake today.. Dynamite!

What is bad. My 987c-Si is not covered with the new update. That is after they told me when buying it. As long as its working we will always provide updates for it. Now I asked the person I was talking with at Humminbird if say they made the 2-D better down the road, Even if it was for the newer ones. Would it also be for mine? Yes it should be.
Well looks like I am out in the rain. Sure hope they update the older units also. But then again I may have to send mine in. The scroll button is not moving to the left when I go to mark a spot...

ShiloRed- I also share your concern Sent an email to customer support about 5 days ago. Still no answer from them on the update for 987C. I hate that the newer units get everything first. Those of us that inversted in the 987C commited a year or two too early. So our longer commitment is rewarded by being shoved back on updates ??

I quit buying Humminbirds for the longest time when they shafted me on the old CH-30 paper graph. I loved that thing and it helped me boat a ton of crappie. When it finally broke I called and they informed me that they no longer supported the paper models. The rep informed me I could send it in on a trade and get the new LCD ones. I looked up the retail price on Bass Pro and basically could have got the new LCD there cheaper than sending old CH-30 to the company as a trade-in.

I believe that was in late 80's. I became a Lowrance man for the longest time up until the 737 Humminbird came out. I liked the 737 and jumped on the 987C when it came out. I realize that Humminbird is operated by different owners now. I hope they do not let the success of the side-imaging units lead them down the path of the former owners non-existent customer service.
