Thank you. As I stated above, I've got new V2 and have already installed the Co-Pilot addon but would love an Ipilot, as long as it was a fair price.

Anyway, as I was researching the Ipilot and how to protect the transducer cable and that's how i ended up here and another thread. I guess my age, or lack of taking care of myself showed, when I (re)discovered in the other thread that they suggested the Cable Saver which is essentially an aluminum bracket and a strong hose to wrap around the transducer cable...

And that's where I saw I had been at that post years ago AND already bought the Saver for the other boat! Talk about embarrassed...

Anyway, it had worked for me before so I called to see about another to discover it had gone up in price. So instead of spending another bundle, it looks like I'll go the route described above but with some small modifications. I just hate to screw something up and the saying "measure twice, cut once" comes to mind.

With that said, I just hate drilling holes in a new (five year old) trolling motor! I watched two YouTube videos and will probably use a spring method but didnt see either video provide any protection for the cable itself. Say, like a heavy-duty hose, PVC, etc., just the spring and zip ties.

So that's an update BEFORE I drill, cut or the like.

HOWEVER, there is still time to offer suggestions, comments, feedback or the like.

Thank you all again.
