Both my units upfront are stand alone .
I have a unit dedicated to livescope only . The video's I have seen where a directional cone is given if calibrated . My question is will I have this if only a livescope transducer is used ? My livescope has just the power cable and livescope cable to transducer .

I've only seen that on units that have been updated for the Perspective mode. I'd love to have it for use with Forward mode, just so I don't have to keep checking the arrow on the trolling motor to see which way the transducer is pointed. It would also come in handy for use at night, for the same reason, as my trolling motor's arrow is not lighted.

yes but it needs a fairly current update
Garmin had us calibrate a friends unit because it was going to a gold circle when you shut it off and turned it back on. We calibrated it and got a cone but it was going all over the place. We did all the current updates this week and going out tomorrow evening to try it out again. So far nothing has fixed the tilted bottom that goes to a black screen with a gold circle. Garmin said if the updated software didn't fix it the transducer was bad. It is a 93 sv gps map LIVESCOPE only unit

It may or may not point in the right direction if you do t have a heading sensor per Garmin when I asked them why the directional incator wasn’t pointing in the right direction so if you’re hoping it will point where looking then don’t.
Since my livescope is mounted on a pole I always know where it is based on handle position .
