Default Garmin 93 uhd sv vs hummingbird helix 7 g2n side imaging picture

    Hello fellas,
Considering getting the Garmin 93sv unit that’s on sale at bass pro right now. I’m mainly wanting it for side imaging at the console. Currently have a hummingbird helix g2n side imaging at the console. No matter what I try I cant get a good picture. Can anyone give any advice how The side imaging picture is in the garmin unit compared to the helix? It would be nice to move up to the bigger screen. Any advice would be appreciated

    Ricky,
I’ve tried mounting the transducer in multiple locations with no luck. I took it to central Kentucky sonar to have him update the software and he said the transducer mounting location looked good as well. Not sure what else to do

Something is wrong with that unit. My old Humminbird 898C shows better than that.

I think a new UHD GT 56 transducer on the Garmin will give a better picture than your older Bird does. I would check my voltage and wiring on either unit to make sure you get the best images possible. You may now have a problem with either of those issues causing your poor views.

Friend of mine has that Garmin unit and the SI is very nice, much better than what you're seeing on your 7.

I agree with Roger, you've got a problem with your H7 system somewhere. What you're seeing on the 7 is not normal.

I agree with above there either a problem with unit, wiring issue running parallel with power wires or something.. but swapping head units will yell you if it's the unit or transducer.
My 899ci hd has better detail..

Thx guys, I ended up buying a 93sv for side imaging at the console. I’ll keep the helix for mapping. Gonna install it in a few days.
