Rnvinc, I did not get a chance to play with my unit but I did find out that my unit is still under warranty until December. I’ll post any update from resetting to default. Thanks for checking on this ole guy.

My unit quit showing the temperature. Called Humminbird and while still under warranty, they sent me a transducer. Call them. They will help.
It wasn't a transducer problem. Sent the unit back and with repairs and turn around I only lost 5 days without a unit.

Here’s the latest update.
After making contact with Humminbird and describing the side imaging issue and what I’ve already done to diagnose the problem by checking connections and cables, they want me to connect my G2N unit to the G1 transducer and see if the issue follows the head unit. Even though they are different transducers, the tech support stated it will function but not be a normal mega image. So this puts me into waiting for the weekend to check. Once it’s determined if it’s the head unit or transducer, a simple proof of purchase to show it’s still under warranty and they’ll take care of the issue.
But on a bright side, I did invest into a G3N SI unit with the ole slush fund to put me back on the water sooner. And when the G2N unit is repaired, it will get mounted in the front with the G1 unit mounted in tandem at the console just for mapping. So I got that to look toward. Thanks to all the input and I’ll post any update on the final outcome with humminbird.

So here’s the final update on the issue with the G2N unit. The circuit board was repaired by the factory and is currently on a UPS route scheduled for a Friday delivery. Whoop whoop
