Default Need help rigging Humminbird on Pontoon

    Hey guys,

I am in the process of rigging my Pontoon boat's electronics and have some questions regarding the compatibility between units that I own.

    Here is my situation.

    I have the following hardware:

Humminbird Helix 10 Gen 3 Mega Down Imaging +
Humminbird Helix 9 SI Gen 1
    Humminbird 1198c SI

Trolling motor - Ulterra Gen 3 with integrated Mega Down Scan transducer

My plan thus far is as follows:

At the steering console install the Helix 9 for side scan imaging and AutoChart Live.

Install two HD transducers at the rear of the boat. One on each pontoon and assign them to left and right. (for side scan). This is in order to get the clearest picture possible.

At the bow install the Helix 10 Gen 3 mega down imaging and connect it to the Ulterra's built in mega transducer.

Now the dilemma that I am having is where should I mount the 1198SI?

Should I mount it at the bow and use it for mapping / waypoints? and potentially 360 in the future?

Is the 1198 even capable of receiving the 2D sonar from the newer Ulterra's transducer?

Can all my units share waypoints?

Will the side scan imaging from the Helix 9 network / display to the 1198? In which case I would be able to also view side scan images at the bow.

Or Option B - install the 1198 at the console and use it for mapping while I drive around looking at side scan on the Helix 9.

A mapping unit is nice while you drive around scanning with another unit.

I agree, that's where I would want my full map and that way you can have your full screen for SI while scanning and mapping. And you should be able to network at least the 2 Helix units to share way points. Someone smarter than me can tell you how to tie the 1198 into the equation. I think it can be done.

Is the 1198 even capable of receiving the 2D sonar from the newer Ulterra's transducer? CHIRP will have to be shut off the CHIRP unit in order to share sonar to the non-CHIRP unit

Can all my units share waypoints? Yes
