Default 1198 sharing internal gps from 999?

I’m adding an 1198 to my console to go with my 999 all connected through the Ethernet hub.

Will I have to buy an external gps puck or will the 1198 be able to share gps info from the internal gps on the 999?

    Thanks for any help

The 1198 can get GPS from the 999 thru Ethernet ...

Remember tho that waypoints marked will be assigned coordinates according to the position of the 999 internal GPS antenna ...

If you are using the internal GPS at console with a transom mounted transducer, you would have an offset in waypoint accuracy. Not a problem with sharing the GPS though Ethernet as Rickie indicated though. If you are not connecting a transducer be sure to turn sonar off on the 1198. Probably already know this but the 1198 can also share everything but maps from the 999 (sonar, waypoints, imaging).
