    Looking for input on best value on a fish finder for under $300,I fish from a kayak,if that helps.

    Yaker, I would suggest you get in touch with Brian@BBGMarine .... tell him what you're looking for the unit to be able to do, size of screen that will fit your needs, your bottom line budget, and see which units he suggests would fill the bill. If you call, make sure and tell him you're a member here, and recommended thru the site. I haven't done business with him, but all I've seen posted are good reviews on his prices, service, and fast shipping times.

    Try to get a sidescanning unit. Save another $100 and look at Lowrance's 5 inch Tripleshot, Humminbird's Helix 5 SI, or Garmin's Striker 7SV

    I know someone who has a Humminbird 698ci hd si. Just upgraded to a different unit. Has side imaging. Includes a lake master card. Has power cable and transducer. Everything you would need to make it work. I can check and see what he wants for it, if you'd like me to.
