While the Striker units do not have Contour mapping - they do have track plotting capabilities similar to a hand held GPS unit ...
Track plotting allows marking and returning to waypoints on a blank background screen (as seen on the box in the OP) ...

I have been looking at the Garmin Striker 7sv. Like Rickie said it doesnt have mapping but does have trackplotter. This model also has chirp down/side/sonar , and from what i can see in pics the images look great. I am also coming from a $100 unit so anything will be better lol!

I finally ran into my friend with the Strikers. Actually he has one and one 93sv. He says that the only negative is the lack of mapping with it. Very satisfied with the displays. His are about a year or so old so I'm guessing GT

Just put one on the bow of my boat striker 7cv. Really like the dv picture, temp and depth are very close to my Lowrance hds8 close enough that I know it is just the difference in transducer depth. But I am having interference when I tap on my tm. The wiring is to a seperate fuse panel so I do not know if I need to put a piece of thin rubber between the transducer. First time out with it yesterday and think I am going to like it.

Look at the RF interference sticky at the top. Rickie has some data there that should help you get pointed in the direction needed.

I've ask Santa for a 7sv for Christmas. I too am moving up from cheap HB's.
But just this week I see Lowrance has a hook2 new for 2018. It looks good too and at a good price also.
