I had one back "then." It had a cable that you could lower and find the temp at any depth. It actually worked... nowadays you can see the thermocline on your depth finder and nobody cares what the actual temp is...

Just wondering if they are still around... no hits on ebay.

Don't remember a Lowrance one, but I've had both the Color-C-lector and the Combo-C-lector ... and the Combo-C-lector had a temp gauge, pH meter, along with the color selector on a 30ft (or maybe 50ft) cord. They were put out by Lake Systems, back in the 1980's.

I know it's a lil off topic, but I picked these up at a garage sale a bit back for trinkets around my tying area. But if anyone has a real use for em....

Still got one and still use it every now and then when driving in early ice out to check water temps. Is this what your looking for? Ancient and had it along time and very very accurate as I check it all the time with the temp Gage's on fish finders. This temp gage has more miles on it than all my vehicles put together.

That fishin temp has made numerous Canadian fly in fishing trips besides traveling the country side with me. Takes a 9 v. battery that lasts forever too.

Started off with the 'Little Green box'. First big thing I bought after coming home. Had the Color Combo too. Not the other items. Later on (after bigger boat and H'bird Super 60) I gave them to an older friend that had never had anything but a window weight and a rope. He actually used them on Ky.
