Default Want to learn to use my new Lowrance indoors. Any suggestions?

I have a new Lowrance Elite 7 ti. Trying to learn it and all its features, while on the water fishing, is fruitless. And sitting in the boat, in my driveway, in the hot Florida sun is an option I don't particularly want to consider. So, I am looking for suggestions for a 120 volt AC to 12 volt DC adapter. I think I have located a power cord at West Marine in Melbourne. (About an hour and a quarter drive.) No one in the Orlando area seems to have it. I'm sure someone on this forum has thought of this long before now, so, there is no reason for me to reinvent the wheel.

I used my DVD player supply. I just tapped into the output leads and wired in a 12 volt power receptacle in parallel with the existing power jack. Works good.

I also have a 12v battery and charger I got from Cabelas. Works good.

Just about any ac to dc power will work for ur unit if it has 1 amp or more output.

I use a 12V portable jumpstart battery to power my Lowrance Elite 5DSI when I'm in my apt.

I also use one of the boat batteries, which are also kept in my apt (when charging).

I bought the unit from a fellow member, and it came with two power/tdx cords in the deal. Good thing, too, since I've put a couple hundred waypoints on it from the internet ... while sitting on my couch !!

That is what I use. I bought one of the 12 volt coolers years ago for camping. Still works pretty good, but I use the 120/12 converter a lot. I got a cigarette plug and put wire clips on it. Used on DF and to check trailer lights, etc.

Thanks guys. Looks like I will be well on my way to being a Fishfinder expert. Wish I had one now, so I could use the time fruitfully while Hurricane Matthew visits.

All the stuff came today. Will post a picture this evening when all is hooked up.
Thanks to all of you for your help. Now we will see what kind of a learning curve this old brain has. But, it will be fun looking for waypoints on the internet.

Our dept of fish & wildlife has a page on their website that shows where all the brush/trees/stake beds/etc. were placed by them ... complete with GPS coordinates. Your Fla F&W Dept may have a similar deal.

I've loaded over 200 from a few of the lakes I regularly fish.

They were not in a GPS format that my Lowrance Elite 5DSI unit was set for ... so I wrote them all down & opened a GPS converter website, then converted them & keyed them into the unit. I've found most of them to be dead on where they're supposed to be, when I searched for them with the unit on the boat. And since they're all on paper, if I change units or this one dies or the GPS files get corrupted, I haven't lost them.

CP, you probably did this already but thought I would mention it for others. I also have a lot of waypoints on my DF, some I had to convert to the Lowrance format. Once I had them all input to the DF, I saved all them to an SD chip so I could up load to another DF if I changed. After all that typing and converting, I did not want to have to type them all in again.
But I keep a paper backup just in case,
