contact Rickie PODUNKIDEAS.COM and see if he has one yet. He makes brackets called "DA COVER HOLD IT" that allow you to make the cover a sun screen. RNVINC on C.C

Here is the sun cover for the HELIX 9 and 10 ...

    Humminbird | UC H910

Unfortunately I don't have a da cover holdit for the HELIX rubber covers ...

I have verified that the UC 5 hard cover for the HB 800/900 series units will work on a HELIX 7 with my 800/900 series da cover holdit ...

I am not looking for a cover.. rather a shield to wrap around the unit where i can read the screen in the sunlight.

do an internet search for: "how to prevent glare on computer screen"

We use glare screens at work (federal government). The issue with some of them is they are also called "privacy screens" and unless you are directly in front of them you cannot read them. The above mentioned search yielded several different film protectors that would work for your application.

They also make anit-glare sunglasses that allow you to see electronics screens. For me, I simply turn the brightness up on my unit but I understand that it doesn't work for everyone. I also have a RAM mount that allows me to angle the screen for better viewing.

    Hope that helps you out

The thing that Rickie makes holds your cover up above the headunit like a visor and allows you to see the screen much better in bright sunlight.

Send Crappiemaniac over here in Ms a PM. I know he built some shields for his units because ov vision problems. They look pretty neat and work for him.
