I have it. My only complaint is that the gps is slow. I use the Navionics HotMaps Premium. It takes it a few seconds to update your location and when you are idling up to a spot it can be frustrating.
anyone have this unit? do you like it? how's it work on the water? any info much appreciated

I just bought a Hook 5 for my kayak. One reason I went with the Hook is that it is supposed to have a faster processor in addition to a few other features but I haven't had a chance to try it out yet. I'm hoping to tomorrow. However I believe the Elite's are marked down in price and may even have a rebate on them.
Excuse me boys...I was referring to the Elite 5x chirp in my original post which I know is just a fish finder (no GPS). Sorry if there was any confusion.
I think there's a little confusion here
1 Mosquitopat ask about an Elite 5x chirp, said nothing about GPS
2 jem270 was the one that said gps was slow
so it wasn't you mosquitopat it was the other poster jem270 that caused the confusion. Wonder which unit he has.
smiles are contagious, spread them around

Still looking for some field test replies on this unit (Lowrance Elite 5x CHIRP). Any and all are welcomed. Thanks
