Thanks everyone for helping me decide on getting the Humminbird 899ci hd si. I was able to buy a new one for way way less than what they originally cost. I also am in the process of getting the better upgraded transducer. I have never owned anything but the regular 2D gray scale HB units. With my lake being mostly 4'-8' water they never showed me very much except depth. I am very excited now wanting to get it on the water and try it out. I am just waiting for the transducer now as I have got everything else mounted on the boat. I will probably be needing help with some of the settings as I start learning to use it. Good to know so many of you have had this unit and know all about it. I was also able to get a 2 year warranty deal from Humminbird for buying this model from them, so this makes this even a better deal. It's going to be neat being able to fish water that I can really see fish and structure instead of just guessing they maybe their. I have read several post here and there about the HB 899 si and have talked to some people here and they have been a real lot of help. If anyone buys a new Humminbird make sure you fill out the Humminbird select registration to get the extra year warranty and all the extras that come with it. Well when I get it going I hope to show pretty fish and structure pictures like the others here. Thanks again for everyones help.

Wow! That was fast sent my transducer to Humminbird for the exchange and in less than 7 days I got it (XHS 9 HDSI 180 T) today. The lady I talked to was very nice at Humminbird also when I called for the transducer exchange and she was very helpful and knew more about what I needed than most customer service people. Now it won't be long before I can get out on the water and try out my new HB 899ci hd si sonar unit. I give Humminbird a A+ rating on the transducer exchange.

I will have to say what little I have dealt with hummingbird customer service you can't ask for more professional or nicer people. I just upgraded to the 899 myself and that was alot of the reason I did. American made and great customer service plus a great product.

Check out brian@bbgmarine! The man is a thrill to work with and really knows his units well. Also He has beat any price on everything my friends and I have purchased from him. I looked around and get several quotes and his was always the best. I wouldnt tell him the prices from other places his are just naturally priced lower. And if your out of state from him then there is no sales tax either. THATS HUGE. And my shipping has never been over $8. I ordered my ulterra from him and shipping was still $8. Dunno how he does it....but he does.
