You get the cheap one it comes with just the 2d skimmer transducer. Get the more expensive package that comes with 2d ducer and the ducer for side scan and DI.

ok thanks. Seems like if the unit is side image they only sale the side image transducer with it. It's not like someone is going to spend that much money on a side image and say o I can save $50.00 on transducer if I don't use the side image just don't make sense thanks for the help

The reason Lowrance gives you options is because many people often network more than one unit together. I bought two Touch9 units this spring and I ordered one as a bundle with both the 2d and the structure scan transducers and the second one with no transducer. My console unit uses the 2d and LSS2 transducers mounted on my transom and my bow unit uses an HDI transducer that I ordered separately. Both units are networked together with Ethernet and an NMEA network and I can view all the sources from either unit.

Today's setups can vary so much it's nice to have options.

It's all about installation options. They can be bought without a TD, with a skimmer TD or in a bundle with a skimmer and LSS-2 TD. For bow install guys will buy a unit without a TD then buy a HDI TD so they have 2D and down scan.

That makes sense. I'll just have to make sure I get the right transducer with the fish finder I want.
