I had a similar problem with my Ipilot. It ended up being a loose connection at the battery in the remote. It would lose connection and signal momentarily. This would reset all features.
Need a little help with the electronics. On the boat have an Onix 8, I-Pilot Link with handheld and 360 Imaging. All needed a software upgrade and did this last week with the exception of the handheld. It would not allow me to upgrade. Yesterday while fishing, the handheld just locked up on us twice while using the Follow the Contour feature. We had to unscrew the panel off the back and unplug the re-chargeable battery. Worked fine for a couple of hours and then locked up again. Has this happened to anyone else?
One other thing--several times while fishing and following the contour, it would just stop on it's own. The unit was on, but the blade would quit turning and the feature would turn off. I would have to go back to the Onix and re-select the contour line and turn it on again. Just wondering if Humminbird and Minn Kota are still working the bugs out. When it works, the Follow the Contour feature is outstanding for crappie fishing.

You also might want to give HB customer service a call about the update issue .... That could be a problem if the I-pilot and the remote aren't at compatable software levels.
Bob--you may be spot on with your insight. The handheld software did not upgrade and that may be big part of the problem. I will go through the upgrading process again and then give it a try.
Some have had trouble updating the 360 or remote thru the Onix for some reason ..... I don't know what the trick is to get it to work .... If you still have problems updating the remote, give customer service a call ..... except on Monday morning, they are very busy and have longer wait times .... I'm not very good at waiting.
