I never said necessory, just my version of a slide bracket.this video is a minn koda. This bracket won't work with the ix5, but the person in the video explains why he uses the slide bracket and it's the same reason that I made my version of a slide bracket.I would have liked to made one like in the video, but the ix5 design limits my options.Minn Kota Universal bracket (MKA-47) - YouTube

I like your bracket kos ... And Gene's too ...

I just want to see in action why that stock nose ramp on the base of the iX5 has to stick down that far ...

It's that nose ramp that makes the entire thing have to stick that far out past the edge of the gunnel ...

It doesn't have to stick down that far.Its just the way they designed it.When the unit deploys, it hits that spring loaded, drop down area.it helps to guide it into the latch.

I'd be cutting that obnoxious nose off if it were mine ...regardless if I had just spent umpteen thousand on a TM ...

But of course I have to modify everything I own ...

Got mine at Universal Mania, paid $1260 shipped for a 80 lb. 24v GPS motor. The 55 lb is $1055, I think.
