Ok guys, got the Xi5 installed on my boat and took it out today for the first time. Wish I could say it was flawless...but it wasn't. The foot pedal quit working after we kept using the remote. So I am going to try resynching everything. Also...the spot lock (Anchor) Feature as well as the heading lock wasn't working at all. Any idea on this or how to get the navigation light to come on? You don't need the Gateway cable for it just to use the cable do you?

I just installed my third Xi5 and finally I have a working motor. #1 thing about this whole fiasco that I cannot believe is the second motor arrived with broken magnets or something, yet Motorguide would not pay for shipping it back. I understand if I used it some and they required me to take it to an authorized repair facility, but this thing was dead on arrival. Have any of you ever shipped a 72" box that weighs 66 lbs? UPS will pro-rate that bad boy as 91 lbs because of the size of the box and it will cost you $176.10 to ship. For a motor that arrived dead. At this point I hope this one doesn't crap out because it won't be worth fixing at this rate.

Diel, if that were the case for me...i would have said the h#@l with it, ripped the motor guide off as well as my lowrance units, sold them, and went with iPilot and Hummingbirds!

I'm with you but the problem is the motor was not working, so couldn't sell it...hahahaha. Just part of it I guess. I've sent an email and will be calling them on Monday, most likely nothing will come out of it. I have an Ulterra coming so if the Xi5 stinks I will get rid of it then.

Did the foot pedal quit or turn off? After using the remote, I have touched the foot pedal once, better control and easier to use the remote. I've only used my Xi5 twice, but it has worked perfect. Heading lock does what it says. The anchor lock when I paid attention to it, kept me within 2-3'.

The foot control completely quit. Couldn't even use the Heading lock or the anchor lock at all. Pretty frustrating and so far very very disappointed with this purchase. I will be calling them on Monday.

I've used my second foot pedal . I'm still having issues with the foot pedal.the remote works fine but the foot pedal, not all of the time. (I thought that the man I talked to from Motorguide said there would be a return label to send the first foot pedal back, but no there's not one).looks like I'll have to pay to have it shipped to them and this second one not doing the job either. (I think software could be the culprit)
