Default Hds9 networked to elite 7 Hds combo

I want to network my hds 9 touch to my elite 7 hdi combo.
Can some one tell me what cable I need to buy, I talked to Lowrance, they give me part numbers of a kit and a separate tee connector. All that stuff looked over complicated, I was hoping someone knows a simpler way.

If you are wanting to share waypoints, sonar and downscan forget it, Sell your Elite 7 and purchase another HDS unit.

Networking the HDS to the Elite will allow waypoint sharing if that is your main goal. You will need the NMEA Starter Kit (124-69) which gives you 2- T connectors, 1-2ft drop cable, 1-15ft. drop cable , 1-Power node, 1- male terminator node , 1-female terminator node. The Power node will use 1 of the 2 T connectors in the package, the HDS unit will use the second. You will need 1 additional T connector for the (Elite) bow unit. You can use the 15ft cable to run from console to the bow but you will need 1 more 2' drop cable to connect the Elite unit to the extra T up front.

With all that said (or typed) you will need the following parts.

    1- Lowrance NMEA Starter Kit / 124-69 -- $69.95

    1- Lowrance N2KEXT-2RD - 2' Drop cable - $29.95

    1- Lowrance N2K-T-RD - T connector - $19.95

Prices are approximate depending on where you buy.

    Brian,
Can you go directly to the lowrance from the end of the 15' cable if that is as far as you want to go? Or do I still need a T and a terminator to make it work.

    Thanks

    Brett,
You will need a T connector and terminator on the end of that 15ft. extension cable with a 2' drop cable to run to the Lowrance unit. Brian

    Thanks,
The cable fits so I was hoping it would work without additional equipment.

You have to terminate each end of the NMEA network that's why the last T w/terminator node is needed.

I have HDS 10 gen 1 at console structure scan. Can I get a HDS 10 gen 2 for console and put gen 1 at bow ? Would you use transducer on minn kota PD or terrova for 2d to be accurate jigging from bow or would I need transducer on tm to use di accurately or is stern transducer close enough?

The 2d is really good enough for jigging, but I like the down imaging on my trolling mtr for jigging brush piles. I think you need move your transducer to the trolling mtr.
