Default Which Fish Finder do I buy ?

I have a Humminbird 798 HD DI with Side Scan and am wanting to upgrade to A larger screen. I am looking for a unit that I can read the contour depths on and also uses Navionic chips. I have trouble reading the depths on the contour lines even when I zoom in because the writing is so small. I want something that has a more defined display and really don't care about a bunch of bells and whistles. I am thinking of getting a unit that has a touch screen. I am considering a Lowrance HDS 7 Gen 2 Touch Sonar/ GPS Combo. Any suggestions ?

I may be getting older but I refuse to grow up.

X3 or the Onix! Can just buy a dedicated unit for just GPS for best results.

I forgot to add that my budget is around $1500.00 or less.

You also might want to consider getting a lake master mapping card.using the highlight contour will make it easier to see

If the OP goes with a Lowrance the Navionics Platinum will do this also.

I've only got the premium Navionics card to compare.

IMO opinion on KY and Barkley Lakes the premium card is not much better than the base maps. The Platinum card has more features but also uses more processor recourses and can be slower on some older units. The images I've seen from the Lakemaster cards look very good, it's a shame they only work in HB units.
