Thread: hot maps

I also have a Navionics Hotmaps Premium chip, 2 of the 3 lakes I fish most here in Oklahoma are not on the chip. Bell Cow that was completed in 1990 and is mostly flooded timer and is 1070 acres, and Wes Watkins that is 1142 acres and was completed on 1997 and also alot of flooded timber are not on the Navionics, the default lake outlines for Bell Cow and Wes Watkins are not even on the Humminbird 798ci HD SI unit I have or even on a newer HB unit I bought a few months ago. I also looked at the Lake Master chip and Bell Cow, Wes Watkins and even Broken Bow that was completed in 1970 and is 14,200 acres are not on the Lake Master chip. I was looking at some Lowrance units the other day and it looks like Lake Insight contains all three of these lakes in standard definition. I keep hoping Lake Master and Navionics will eventually contain all three, I did a request to add the lakes about 1 year and 9 months ago, and the latest updated lake listing still did not show them.

I was able to locate Wes Watkins on Google Earth prior to the lake being built, I overlayed it with a Google Earth map that shows the lake, I was then able to create the shoreline with a path, and also locate all the channels, old roadbeds, and flooded ponds, etc with paths, and uploaded to my HB unit. Also looked at Humminbird Autochart, but with all the brush these lakes have it would be very very time consuming. The first image was before the lake was created and the second was after.
