    Default shooting under docks ...

Can someone please post some SI pics of shooting under & around docks. Also the settings. I have just puchased a HB 899. Love the unit. I can get most of things to come in ok, but i cant tell anything about a dock. This is the main reason for purchasing the unit. Thanks guys, any help will greatly appreciated!!!

    Default shooting under docks ...

This is the only snapshot shooting under a dock that I have...

The square looking "floating" object is the end of the floating walkway between the boat slips...

    SI quiz time...

Someone tell me how far I was to the side of the floating walkway when I snapped the screenshot in the above pic....

And what clue(s) led you to that deduction....??

I'd guess 9 1/2 feet to the closest part of the walkway and about 13 feet to the far side.

Anything less than the water depth will show in the water column since the unit only know how far the object is from the transducer, not how deep it is.

That's pretty much how I would deduce it also Bob ...(and your explaination is better than I could have said it)..

Thanks Rickie, I don't totally understand that slant range stuff.....just enough to be a little dangerous......I think you are way ahead of me with the details, I tend think more in block diagrams and then the details of the blocks after that.....Sometimes I never get to the details.
