Let me clear up what I said.because there is now the di element the onix can display si on 455 while the di can display 800 at the same time or vis versus. My 998 cannot do that.

Bob,my unit shows software v.o.oo. .I think that deal11 over at that other forum is at 2.01 or something symalier to that.ha has reported some glitches but I think whats going on is what I mentioned that one of the favorite views seems to not work.when you touch that view or even if you just dont touch the sceen after a short while the onix software will change the view to the nav view(at first it make it seem like the unit is just changing without a command but I think thats what it does if you dont give it a command after a breith while)as far as the scroll back.i have not seen that option yet but im still learning this unit and have probably overlooked that.(wish I could compare notes with deal11.kindof shot myself in the foot on that tho)

I'm here guys. Just found out Kosmo was here and I think it would be a good idea to share info for sure.

Update on my Onix. Spoke with the head engineer and on water tester Friday morning. Really good guys, I had dealt with Richard last year with the 360. We should be seeing an update for the booting speed and other glitches hopefully early April. They told me not to try to run the 360 and I pilot Link through the old 5PS ethernet switch as it will really not work well. I have already posted about that. Other stuff:

    1. The update on the Humminbird site for the Onix 360 has been having problems taking. (Mine will show "Failed" immediately after trying to update).
    2. I am seeing lots of problems with SI, check videos out:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DhZyxec8C00

    Sorry about the sideways video.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=irj8pB7GRfQ

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7L5w0iQfHWY

They think it might be some type of interference from the 2D since some of the code shares parameters between 2D and SI. So I will go back on the water and try some things they suggested.

I am running software version 1.120.

On the other side of things, the ideas behind some of the features are very good. The DI is much better than on my Lowrance HDS12. I can get DI bottom readings at 35mph no problem and the 2D looks very good also. When not freaking out, the SI looks great also with no signs of fading at longer ranges.

I have made a custom 4 pane view with chart, SI, DI, and 2D and it seems like every time I use it something freaks. Last time I tried to pinch to zoom the chart out and it froze and then showed an area that wouldn't load up. The guys at HB saw it and are working on it also.

I think once they get a couple of updates on the unit it will perform very well.

A shame for that price these kinks couldn't have been work out in the QA department before release.

If the DI is set to 455kHz ...and the SI is set to 800kHz...

Is the "washboard effect" still evident in the SI view...??
