    Question HB External GPS

Any particular reason why HB has the external gps set up on some of their larger units such as the 898c SI vs the internal set up? Is the external set up better??
    GO BIG ORANGE !

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

I would guess that the larger units are meant for the console an the smaller units are normally used on the bow. When on the bow the unit is directly over the transducer. For your console unit if the the console is 9 feet from the transom you would have 9 feet I'm error on your GPS mark. I have my external mounted on the transom right above the transducer.

i use a external on my 787c2i mounted up front because the speed jumps all over the place when you get down to 1.0 mph with the external it stays steady down to .5 then the dounut appears
