It's always a good idea to have a backup copy of your present version on a separate SD card just in case this kind of uh-oh happens....

I just updated my 898 with version 5.700 and now all my colors are pure black. Is there anyway I can get version 5.5 back. also in order for me to ethernet to my 788 will I need them both on the same version?

Thanks, I dowloaded the old one then reloaded the current and I am back in business, unless I have to have the same version on the 788

Did you try re-downloading the 5.700 software and installing it in your 898c Si unit again?

No, you do not have to have the same version of software on your 788 unit.

yes I redownloaded and it seems to be working fine. I got my 788 in the other day and installed. Ethernet and everything seems to be working. I can get a sonar picture in my driveway (lack of water) so I will check it out tomorrow for any interference from the terrova, but I am hoping all is well. I will report again tomorrow night
