Default Humminbird 788 DI GPS Issues

Just put a 788 DI on the front of my boat, the image is awesome!!!! It’s like fishing in a lake with no water; the bottom/structure is unbelievable. However, the last trip out my GPS went haywire, noticed it running the spider rigs when the speed would jump from 0.6 up to say 5.0 and everywhere in between. Didn’t have the manual but managed to get to the GPS diagnostic view but without the manual onboard it was of little help. Also when I went to the chart view the boat image was jumping around like a rabbit on the screen. Any help?

Does the puck have a clear view of the sky? Maybe check the connection to your unit in your mount. Wait a second that's an internal antenna isn't it? I would call Humminbird directly.

Let us know how you get it worked out as I have been leaning towards the same unit. Good luck.

There is a software issue on the 788ci HD DI and Humminbird is working to correct the problem.

You might have some interference popping up too, just a thought.

I have the 788 as well make sure the unit is not connected to the trolling batteries and there is a noise control on there low, medium, high1, high2, high3. Humminbird will send you a power cable with a fiter built in you can call and ask them to send you one. they are free.
    can't catch'em at home
