    Default i-pilot anchor issue

need a little help. when i place my i-pilot on anchor - it only holds for about 5 seconds - then shuts off. i noticed when i click the anchor once it flashes 3 or 4 times - then when i click it again - the anchor light stays on solid. however, either way - it only holds for a few seconds - then shuts off - and i go sailing.

any ideas on what i may be doing wrong? thanks in advance.

Call MinnKota customer support. You might have to get the control head replaced.

Is the boat still moving when you engage the anchor lock? I have found the anchor lock will disengage if the boat gets too far away from the set point.

when you first push the anchor button and dont touch it again it will set the spot, then if you want to leave the spot and are within 1/4 mile?? you can return to the same spot with a touch of a button, I you push the button twice real fast it will mark that spot and not go into memorie, you should not push it more than twice. now the motor will shut off. come on shut off depending on how high the wind is, It will not run the motor all the time to hold you on the spot, I will shut off once it is with in a small circle of aquisition. if you move so far out of the zone the motor will engage again, the farther you are blown off corse the faster the motor will run to return you to your selected spot.

i didnt notice the gps indicators; however, this was the first time out after replacing an on-board charger, so batteries had just been reconnected. Thanks for your help.

I should read the manual, I guess. I did use the spot-lock feature successfully all of last year, but still didnt know some of the things you have mentioned. However, I'm fairly positive the anchor was not working. I tried several times to engage it, to no avail.

the boat was moving because the winds were significant. but i tried to set it so many times - surely once or twice i would have been at an acceptable speed. it worked last year just fine - this was first time out this year. i'm wondering if it could be the remote control battery (doubtful).

    Did you call customer support?

I've lost my anchor settings and trolling settings. Called customer support and they said it was either low voltage or faulty control head.

Mine had worked perfectly for over a year. A few weeks ago it started "losing spot lock". I realized that I had not changed the remote batteries since I bought it. Changed remote batteries and no issues since.

The remote batteries lasted over a year on a guide boat where the spot lock feature is used on most days.
