Default Question concerning cut antenna wire

I bought a Lowrance lms 480 fishfinder from a friend, and would you believe he cut the antenna wire to remove the module from the boat. My question is , can that cut wire be put back togeather successfully or is just junk. Those wires are not cheap. If it can be repaired can somebody tell me now . thanks

since it is not a transmiter, yes, go ahead and splice it, making sure you dont get the ground wire touching the center wire. heat shrink,or liquid tape your ready to go

I'd agree with Beagle. You'll know pretty quick if it doesn't work right, and you're not going to make it worse.
