Has anyone tried this with a Lowrance HDI transducer for the elite 7? I am getting a Terrrova this week and the US2 wont work with Down scan.

This may be a stupid question. Just bought a terrova with Ipilot Link for my father.
Where does the transducer cable plug into? Does the cable go up through the bottom of the head and plug into something inside the head?

You refer to a shielded transducer---is this different from the regular transducer, or did you do something to shield it?

So is it the consensus that this will not work with Lowrance transducer cables? This aggravates me. I was all ready to mount mine according to this method but I guess it might not work. Maybe send the lowrance back for a bird. I don't like loose cables especially the way the terrova operates. Has anybody found a solution?

He taped "top" and "bottom". Didn't say anything about taping the middle. That is where you use a waterproof silicone to "glue" the cable in the square groove on the shaft so it doesn't flop around on you.

The collar will slide up and down the shaft, providing you don't get the marine sealant outside of the groove.
