Ketchn, Skiptomylu, Snake River, and all my friends and Pastor Bernard Harris, I have had fun making panfish lures for over sixty years now. This is the time for me to quit making them except for myself. I started lure making when I was around fifteen years old. I would take a hammer and beat split shot weights around a hook into a spoon style shape and then take a drill and put a tiny hole in them to attach my line. Jack Manda, from Manda's bait shop on the Portage Lakes got me introduced to lure making by showing me how to solder up "Pinmins." Years later an individual named Skiptomylu on crappie dot com showed me how to make and tie all types of hair jigs. Then an individual named Snake River on crappie dot com got me making my own soft plastic lures for Crappie and White Bass. This hobby has been a lot of fun. check out the DIY section on Crappie dot com and just perhaps one of you reading this might want to start making your own fishing lures. There is nothing so rewarding as catching a fish on something you made yourself. It has been fun. Thanks to all my friends here for your encouraging words.

Mike
