Mr. Doug was telling me about a pearl powder he uses in powder coats called Super Sparkle. He said since he doesn't do plastic injection he couldn't speak as to how it would work in that case, so he sent me a small sampler of the mica and today I put it to test in some clear that has a tiny bit of violet hi lite and some uv enhancer in it. After cooking the plastic to working temperature I added a dab of the Super Sparkle about the size of a baby aspirin and a little black .015 flake and shot it into 3 different molds all with chartreuse tails in place. Here they are.....
I've been a long time fanatic of fire opal micro glitter for making this particular plastic as a crappie color and for belly colors, but this stuff makes plastic do things that the fire opal can't begin to touch. This stuff is genuinely unreal. So Doug, here's a big thanks to you! Now check your pm's lol.
Sent you the info!! LOL there are other places that have bigger quantities. I know there's a almost 3 oz. bottle on the bay for $17. The stuff isn't cheap but a little goes a long ways!!!!!!!!! I knew you'd like it if worked okay in the plastics. The pics don't show up at work so I'll check em when I get home.
Could you do the same with pearl white???.

This stuff does to clear plastic what pearl would just screw up. The link he sent by pm has several colors of the mica to think about. As Bait Junky mentioned in a thread not long ago, pearls have color while hi lites are whitish looking. This powder looks whitish but is more silver in the plastic in the amount that I made. I don't want a true pearl, I hate pearl as a plastic color, just a hazed over clear with a ton of shine on the inside and this stuff does an even better job than the fire-opal micro-glitter.
Nice Tom!!!!!!
Bob like I told Tom as far as the plastics go I don't know!!
On jigs the super sparkle works very well with white pearl
That looks awesome!
Wow that's great
