Whats the bead for ? If it were between the barrel swivel and the sinker it would protect the knot at the barrel swivel from the sinker....but where you show it located I don't understand what purpose it is serveing.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

I found out that it is quite an attractant. When you cast it into the water the bead travels down the leader to the hook or lure. The curiosity of panfash see the bead moving and are attracted to it by sight and follow the moving bead to the dinner table below. Remember the theory from Al Linder and also from In-Fisherman magazine. You have to attract the fish and then trigger the bite. Things like a bead moving will attract a fish. The lure and presentation will trigger the bite. Try this in a fish tank and you will see what I mean. Those fish literally dart from everywhere to see that little red bead moving. I will also sometimes use a bead between the sinker and barrel swivel to protect the knot and also for adding an additional sound to the rig.

Welcome from Alabama. I bought it from a person here on c.com used. It is a four cavity mold and I am just loving it. I do not know if it was a Jacobs or a Behr mold. Perhaps others here on DIY Plastics can help you out with that. I just know when I saw it last year my dreams were coming true.

Mike doesn't the snap kill the action of the Jig I never use a snap on a jig I'm a firm believer in using a loop for my jigs they Free movement and you get twice as much action also what pound test are you using from the 6 pound test down the other side of the swivel I'm assuming that you are using 4 pound test for the jig. I used nothing but 4 pound test when we are fishing for crappie might have to change my techniques a little bit when I moved to Texas bigger fish but I have caught lots of big fish on 4 pound test all the layup to over 5 pounds sometimes larger especially if the stupid channel cats will not leave my jig a loan.
