Thanks bwill. Butla25, Bojohn told me about the aluminum rods, that is what he uses. I found some at Hobby Lobby and just cut them to size. They have indiviadual width packs of rods or they have scrap packs of different sized pieces. I think I got 4 one foot sections of aluminum rod for a little over 2 dollars. Then just tipped the bent end of the hangers with them.

brushnjigs, I spoke with Bear last night and the way he explained to me is that the 1 3/4" is the body length itself, not including the skirt added. Once you add the skirt it would make it longer. I think you have to use a skirt mandrel in order to use the nose insert, if not then you could just pour a 1 3/4" and then cut the tails. If you have to use the skirt mandrel to be able to use the nose insert then it would not work. Bear said he probably would not be doing tube molds in that small of sizes because the cost of producing that mold is tremendous.

Thank you for clearing that up, I was thinking that was the total size. Dave is a great guy to do business with. Im sure having one cnc cut would be a difficult project, it would be a nightmare just for the cad files.

My solid bodies are made in a two piece injection mold. I make 25 bodies per injection.

If one did not want to dip he might could use the smallest mold and then cut the tubes down to size and reheat the leftovers, the only benefit to that is not having to cut the tail though.

With the jigs that I make if I want it shorter than 2 inches I cut the body and leave the tail full. The fact that they are solid means you can make them any length you want and keep it on the hook.
