    Default Wood pallets

    Hey Men,

Just joined the crappie forum and already have seen some great ideas. Have you guys ever tried the hardwood pallets that is used by forklifts to move heavy items? Seems like these things would last forever. I have thought about stacking them about a foot or so apart with four corner braces and make them about 8 feet or so high depending on water depth. Just lower the whole condo down with a couple bags of sak-crete on the bottom pallet to weigh it down. Just a thought

Pallets make great condos. Make sure they aren't made from treated wood or painted.
I've tied brick to them to sink, takes a lot of brick for a 40X48" pallet.
I fished a fence row made of pallets on a large pond. It was great for bass and bream.
During low water we drove post, stood pallets up and tied them together. One condo was 8 pallets in rows 12 to 15" apart. One was a square with 12" open corners, 36X40" pallets spaced in the middle.

I use them to build stakebeds on but takes plenty of weight to sink . Don't try to put several together because of weight of pallets and rock needed to sink . Best ones made of Hardwood . They last several years

I can't figure out how to post a picture without it rotating on me but all that is pallet wood that I poured in concrete blocks. Cut them up with a sawzall and sink about 10 or so per bed. Works good.

Takes alotta blocks to sink pallets. Make sure you take plenty with you. You may want to do a trail run with one.

    Awesome,
I didn't know that they were that hard to anchor down. May need to do something a little more easier to sink. Thanks for the reply's

Here's a better look with pic through Tapatalk so you don't have to turn your head to look. Been catching fish off these this fall and winter.
