You can make 5 piles with 5 trees...no need to wait for them to dry out, I prefer them to stay green and flexible as long as possible....the resin becomes inert and causes no issues, same with the leaves.

IF YOU DO NOT WANT YOUR AREAS FOUND.....I would use all of the trees as laydowns and then build some of the Big pole PVC cover and Milk Crate Condo's...Plastic, if built right, pretty much disappears in water!

Interesting idea. I'm sorry if I can across wrong. I greatly appreciate everyones input. Wish I had more info on the PVC cover and Milk Crate Condo's that disappears. That would be sweet

You didn't come across wrong....just wanted to give you options!

There is ALOT of Science on this....believe or don't, there's plenty of Research...we found it all to be true at our lake!

Plastic is close to the same density as water, some plastic is less than 1 (Water, there are equations, etc) and floats, some is just a little over 1 and sinks. Most Plastic is so close to the density of water. Fish show up because of the air bladder...other things show up because the density difference is high.
Plastic can absorb or reflect sonar and radar. Roundness also helps to decrease signature.
Plastic with holes can allow sonar and radar to pass or decrease signature.

Instead of wood that I have in the one bucket, just use PVC. Sand the heck out of it with 60 grit sandpaper and algae will stick better and build a solid colony.
The crates look like a rock on the best equipment we have here at our lake....the PVC Trees can't be found in most places.

DYK....there are several types of wood that are denser than water and sink!
