That's allot of drilled holes. Good looking tree.
Thought I'd add to my trees a few pvc structures to make sure the hold crappie year round. I had read on many forums how if you add a pvc pile to the end of your row of trees that the really big crappie usually stack up on the pvc and the smaller dinks are around the trees.
Used a 4" pipe and drill 3/4" holes to insert 3/4 pipe and drill 1/4" holes for the smaller pipe on the "branches". Placed a small foam insert in top and will anchor to that cinder block through holes I drilled int he bottom of the pvc pipe. Making four of these bad boys and will try to put either a small piece of metal shaped like a fish or a small bag of ping pong balls to see if they can be seen with sonar (from another post). Will scan and let you know how they turn out and how well they show up on sonar.

Looks good ! Get that thing wet backed up with a couple of "C" trees, "BB"s, or even stake bed...
Hey KB
Very Nice!
If you want to supplement that for SLABS, remember that they like Big Cover for Ambush points...you can do two 4 inch PVC poles like you have, and attach LARGER and lighter BLACK TUBING, to make a larger area of mass, and hiding/ambush spots....I attached up to 4" black tube to 6" Main PVC poles and it was still very light and easy to drop!

Looks like I needed to invest in the pvc market, their going to get rich off of crappie fishermen
I liked the pvc tree. Im going to have to invest in one of those myself to go in the deepest hole I can find.
Maybe make it 10' tall in 2 - 5' sections then put together out on lake.
vic n LIKED above post
Just become friends with a plumber or someone in construction...normally you can get all you want for nothing!lol
Also,
If you have a concrete plant nearby, normally they will give away or sell cheap, any broken bags or defective blocks....everyone gives away milk crates, especially when their kids are gone, or they clean out the garage....Most of my cover, only cost me my time and transportation...and my 13 year old son's children, will still reap the benefits after I'm gone....that's what I call an INVESTMENT IN THE FUTURE!lol

how did you get the pvc pipe to stay in the concrete block? quickcrete to fill it in? and also how many cooncrete blocks does it take to sink something like that? I have tons of cinder blocks that are broken into halves
The PVC is light and will fall over on it's side if not anchored to the cinder block. I drilled two holes near the bottom and run galvanized wire through the holes and around the cinder block. At the top I put a small 10" piece of foam (look close in the picture) to keep it buoyant and straight up. No need for concrete with the foam keeping it striaght up and down.
Thanks guys!

As we have discovered in the past when putting PVC into wet cement place a 3" or a couple 1-1/2" screws in to the end to be anchored, and sanding it beforehand can also be a very good idea. Otherwise while handling them they can come out of the cement and GOOD LUCK getting it back in...
That's a good idea Lowellhunter. I just didn't need the extra weight from the concrete and I wanted to carry all my pieces separately.
Since I drilled four holes in the pipe the wire should hold it well and this way I can carry each piece separately and put it together on the boat before dropping.
