Default 1 Acre 28.5 feet deep pond help?

We have a neighborhood pond that houses some crappie, bluegill, and carp. My neighbor stocked it last year with pike and bass. Only 2 bass have washed up but no pike have. I can't seem to catch them. We think that the carp population which boomed killed them all. We can't drain the pond or just kill all the fish with chemicals. What should we do to get the gamefish back into high numbers. I was thinking of a carp derby and to get most of the carp out and to stock it with many largemouth and smallmouth bass that are adults. The pond gets its water from storm drains in our neighborhood. Also in the 90's my neighbor caught a 19.5" bass from the pond. He has it framed in his basement and pictures from when he caught it.

What size were the pike and bass when neighbor put in pond? Depending on size maybe the crappie ate them. I would not have put both pike and bass just the bass(just my opinion).

If he put in pike that were 36", then that's your problem I would think. Your talking a fish that is already 3 ft long in a 1 acre pond. I would think they can do some damage. If it was me I would get every pike out. We kinda had the same problem where a guy on our pond(5.5acres) put in jackfish without telling anybody. Our bass got skinny due to the fact that the jackfish and bass were competing for the same food. Our bream and bass numbers went down. So me and a buddy who also lives on the pond decided to strictly fish for the jackfish and get them out. This has helped a great deal so every time we catch one it goes on the bank.

We have a lot of carp in the Rock River headwaters here in WI. This summer the carp started dying off. Just the carp, mind you. The stench! Turns out that there is a virus that affects fish of a certain type (koi, carp, etc.). It's been slowly spreading down river. If you live near the Rock River in Illinois, perhaps the virus will help you get rid of your carp problem! If so, just say 'Thanks' to WI.
