Thread: Growing Bamboo

Not all bamboo species is as aggressive as others. So, if you do some research, you can find some species that will pretty much stay where you put it. I personally think hardwood brush will do everything bammboo will and it is easier to find.

I cant add anything about growing it but living here in Ga. I can tell ya anyone that has it wants to get rid of it. All I have to do is ask and I can get as much as I want, and it's everywhere here. People have tried digging it up and burning it out, all to no avail. It's a spreading nuisance to most landowners that have it on their properties here. Right now I have permission to all I want and can cut a truckload in half an hour. It's completely taken over her back yard except for the driveway which goes around her trailer and she only has a front yard left (she rents).

"with tail between the legs" I'll reply. Take this thread for example. No one even acknowledged anything I had input. It was like I did not post at all....untill I started to boo hoo a bit. If yall don't want ideas from a traveler, just say so, but ignoring or at least not saying something back....even if it was a stupid idea, makes a person feel left out and not wanted. Guess I'm just wanting someone to say "havn't thought about that", or "I tried that and it just didn't work"....anything for a reply. Down where I come from one of the worst things you can do to a man when he says "Howdy, or How ya doing" is not say a thing. As grandpa would say, "must been a yankee". Not that there is anything wrong being born on the wrong side of the Mason Dixon line, but it is (in my opinion) kinda rude. Nuff said, dug my hole, throw some dirt in on it and I will hush!

P.S. Was even going to suggest for someone who wanted to investigate it a bit, to look into selling "Grow your own Crappie Condo's...just add water and sunlight!!" Just don't know the laws on shipping containers of shoots all over the country. Me.....I have retired twice and do not want not wish for another carrear.

centerdrive, are you for real?!! i think people do read your posts and the input all of us give is read and some people think the posts might be good and some not so good but do you really expect someone to comment on every post you make? Come on......get real dude. :rolleyes: :o :D

OK OK nuff said. I apoligize.....guess I was just having a pity party. Will post thoughts and ideas and not worry about it. I know that there are a lots of post out there that are helpful and some that do not warrant posting. Will remember what my grandpa allways said "Boy, you keep them feelns out thar on a stick, and somebody's gonna come along with a chain saw". Smart ol man he was too.
