I have not fished with my oldest son in several years due to our work schedules. A couple of days ago, he called and wanted to go fishing. We were both really excited about getting to go together. I went out and bought him a B'nM Sam's Super Sensitive 7 ft rod and we went. He caught one catfish and I only caught one crappie and yet it was one the best fishing trips I have ever had.

flshing 15' deep it felt like i had a weed hanging on my jig ,reeled up real slow to the surface and a 3# crappie rolled over and swam away,i never did feel anything but a slight weigh. It was the biggest crappie l have ever seen on that lake.

In the late 70’s two brothers and I were fishing a small rural lake in a 10’ johnboat. I was in the middle and had just told them I had seen some really big bass in this lake when the one in front hooks up on a monster. We get the bass in the boat, each of us take turns holding it. We didn’t have a scale but agreed the fish was well north of 10lbs.. While his brother in back is putting it on the stringer, we are telling him he should have this one mounted. About ten minutes later the brother in the back goes to put another fish on the stringer, as he pulls the stringer he gets an odd look on his face. The big bass is gone, boy we were just sick. Lessons learned (1) carry a scale, (2) carry a camera, (3) most importantly NEVER PLACE A LARGE FISH ON A METAL STRINGER.
Pass the "Sportsman Baton" on before you're gone, promote values for others to hunt and fish upon.
