A favorite Christmas.......there are so many to pick from over the years, as well as a appreciation of what Christmas means.

When I was a youngster around 1968 I was a big fan of G.I. Joe, so this one particular year "Santa" put the G I Joe jeep and trailer under the tree.......this was cool cause it had the battery operated searchlight which could mount in the jeep and the trailer had a missile launcher that really did launch a plastic object. I can remember after Christmas at night turning on the search light and shooting ornaments off the tree......it wasn't successful......the operation that is, because I was discovered in action as one of moms favorite ornaments crashed loudly on the ceramic tile floor......

Years later into adulthood, it was gathering at mom and dads house for Christmas, watching the kids all open their gifts in excitement! All but one time, my niece had told grandma a lie earlier in the year at church about her birthday. So my mom carefully package a old fossilized hunk of cow dung in the box for the niece. My niece was obviously grossed out by her gift upon opening, and my mom without missing a beat told her......that's all you're getting! ......maybe that will teach you not to talk Bull$&*t at church!

Now that we have grandkids, I love to watch their excitement as they open up gifts.

Mom is gone now, this will be the second Christmas without her.......but I think back on how much she loved Christmas, and the memories she created. My oldest son now makes her cookies and peanut brittle, Adrienne wonders if somehow there will be another hunk of cow dung (cause she still has the gift of Bull$%*t) and I look at our tree with the matching christmas tree ornament to the one I shot off her tree in 68....

So, I don't have a particular favorite.......just a cranium full of many.

Christmas is the time for getting together with loved ones and friends.
