I went to piru a few days ago. and unfortunately is was cold and windy. No boat so we fished form shore and were unable to catch any crappie, did catch 4 bass though.
I read in the paper that a stringer of 6 crappie were caught, biggest was 3.4# and total of 6 fish was over 14#s. Wow!

The lake is now full, which means ther is alot of brush in the water and alot of the fish move to the north end which is basicall inaccessable by foot. Boat is the only way to go. I will not bother going again on foot. They have closed all the parking by the entrance and jack up the parkinbg fee to $10. The big fish should be almost moved out of the shallows.
