Yeah, I can tell that 1st one is a monster. Nice fish.
Here are a couple pictures of some of the smallies I caught yesterday while floating a river by my house. The smallmouth in the picture with me was a real pig at just over 21 inches. The other was just a nice 15 incher. The big one was taken on a 5 inch purple pearl yamasenko rigged on a gamakatsu 2/0 offset shank worm hook with a 1/8 oz sinker 30 inches up the line. Casting cross current in a 4 foot deep hole. The smaller one was caught on a Yamamoto tube in green pumpkin. Just shaking it on the bottom in one of the 3 - 5 foot deep holes.
It is not about the equipment you have to use,
It is about how you use the equipment you have. :D

Yep, we get a lot of nice smallies but that one was one of the better in the last couple years. I did manage to land a 23 1/4 incher 2 years ago and have never seen anything like it since. Of course we release all those real big ones. We do keep a few of the 15 - 18 inchers once in a while but that is it.
