my question is lets say you fix a spot on the hood of a vehicle and you sand down smooth all is good wipe it down then prime it ..... do you need to sand the primer then wipe it down again and paint ??? or after you prime it and its good and dry just paint it ???
any help would be greatly appreciated !!!!

Depends on how smooth the primer coat is, but most of the time I would lightly wet sand the primer with 800 grit or finer paper. The sanding will show up minor imperfections prior to finish painting. Wash off sanding residue, blow dry with air hose and then top coat.
