A friend of a friend claims to have caught this out of Tuttle creek:
Is that in fact a sturgeon? Looks like one to me. And is there any chance it could have actually came out of Tuttle Creek lake?

That lucky dog! I've been trying to catch one in the Kansas river for several years now. I think it would make a cool mount...
Is he claiming it was on the main lake or at Rocky Ford fishing area?
I am just pullin' your leg.:D
Fishtaxi have you tried the smoky hill river? I remember as a kid and teenager not being able to keep them off a worm or minnow. Haven't fished the smoky much on recent years but I will give it a try when things get decent and let you know if I catch any
I have caught two at Rocky Ford, down the river where it bends. The first time I was young and didn't know what kind of creature I had on the end of my line lol.
I never have fished the smoky hill river. I know they are in the Kansas river because other people catch them in the area I fish, but I just haven't been as lucky as them. I'll get some worms and make three or four trips again this year and hope maybe this is "the year". :-)
It's just such a wild-looking fish.
I am just pullin' your leg.:D
Used to catch them below Bosuer Damn in Lawrence many years ago.
