got to watch the duck hunters some think they own the lake
My buddy and i left the ramp @ self creek about 7:30 this morning seen jerry and his crew fishing at the marina just another day on greeson.we went straight to point 7 and started fishing the west side there is a couple of rocky points along that bank that we have good luck with the bass about 150 -200 yds of bank when we got to the end we seen some activity on the east side of the lake could not tell what they were doing too far. when we were getting ready to leave for a new spot two men in camo boat came across the lake and started telling us how we messed up their duck hunt.we are on the MAIN channel it has to be 250-300 yds from their set up in full camo hidden in brush from the woods. the 2 camo boats were hidden in the back of the cove out of site we had no idea there was anybody else on the lake our back was to them the whole time at least 300yds away on the other side of the lake.during the time we were fishing at least 1 hr not one shot and no ducks to be seen but we screwed it up for them.they didn't come over to give a friendly warning that they were using 10 ga. shotguns.we left after a few kind words just not what i expected to start off the morning.just wanted to pass it along i've heard of people hunting deer and turkey on ouachita and greeson but never thought they would be in the main channel hunting ducks

Those guys don't seem to know to much about the art of duck hunting, or they would have been hunting some place other than the main channel where a lot of boat traffic is.
Duck hunters are a different breed than the rest of us.

Yep, there are SO many ducks on that heavily wooded body of water called Lake Greeson that it's nearly impossible to fish, LOL, LOL. Have compassion on the ignorant.

we would have given them the whole lake if we knew they were hidding in the brush like ninja's.we looked for ducks all day after that and seen one lone duck swimming we did see some buzzards and a beautiful bald eagle looking for lunch

I have done some duck hunting @ Greeson. Bear Creek and Rock Creek have produced some fun hunts, but I have always talked to Kevin @ Swaha Lodge to make sure there are ducks on the lake. I have hunted around point 10 a few times with some success. I've always hunted Greeson when pressure on other public waters have gotten under my skin. Greeson is the most beautiful place I'ver ever hunted, so a bad day hunting is still a good day.

I had an experience a couple of years ago in the car body cove on Greeson. I didn't know any one was with in a mile of me when a guy lowered the boom on a squirrel. I was injecting some nibbles at the time and had to reload my pump. I squirted them all over the bottom of my boat.

Guys like that give all us duck hunters a bad reputation. Sorry to hear that. I don't know much about Greeson, but a lot of the water that I fish for crappie is the same water that I hunt ducks. These guys obviously have little respect.
